Setara Logistics. Subsidiary of the Setara Group.

Freight brokerage with a vetted carrier network.

Setara Logistics is a freight brokerage backed by FMCSA broker authority and a BMC-84 surety bond. We move truckload and LTL freight across Canada and the US by matching your shipment to vetted carriers, then coordinating it from pickup to delivery. Based in the Toronto and GTA area. No trucks of our own, so we work for the load, not the fleet.

Freight brokerage

A broker that works for the shipper.

A freight broker arranges capacity between shippers and motor carriers without owning the trucks. That is the model Setara Logistics runs on. We hold US property broker authority through the FMCSA and carry a BMC-84 surety bond, so the freight you tender moves under real broker authority, not a handshake.

Because we are not tied to a single fleet, we source the right carrier for each lane and each piece of equipment. That means flexible capacity when volumes spike, coverage on lanes a fixed carrier would not run, and one coordinator who owns your shipment from booking to proof of delivery.

Setara Logistics is the brokerage, forwarding, and managed-logistics side of the business. For asset-based trucking on owned equipment, that is the separate company Setara Transport. Knowing which one you need is half the battle, so we keep them clearly distinct.

What you get

Capacity, coordination, visibility.

Flexible capacity

Truckload and LTL booked from a vetted carrier network. When your volume moves, the capacity moves with it, without you signing a fleet to a contract.

Freight coordination

One coordinator books the load, schedules pickup, and manages the carrier. You deal with us, not with a roster of dispatchers.

Shipment visibility

Status updates from pickup to proof of delivery. When something slips, you hear it from us first, not after the appointment is missed.

Modes

Truckload, LTL, and multi-mode.

Truckload (FTL)

Full truckloads on dry van and other equipment, brokered to carriers that run your lane. Direct moves when the freight fills a trailer or the timing needs a dedicated run.

Less-than-truckload (LTL)

Palletized freight that does not fill a trailer, coordinated through carriers sized for the shipment so you pay for the space you use.

Cross-border (Canada-US)

Southbound and northbound lanes coordinated with customs clearance through our licensed broker partner, so the freight and the entry move together. TODO: link to dedicated cross-border page once published.

Multi-mode

Road combined with rail or intermodal when the lane or the budget calls for it. We plan the handoffs so the shipment stays on one coordinated booking. See the full mode hub.

Carrier network

How capacity is sourced and vetted.

Capacity comes from a vetted carrier network, not a single owned fleet. Before a carrier moves your freight, we check operating authority, insurance, and safety standing, then match the lane and equipment to carriers that run it regularly. Warehousing, cross-dock, and distribution are arranged through a vetted 3PL and warehouse partner network rather than owned facilities.

Questions

Freight brokerage, answered.

What is a freight broker and how does Setara Logistics work as one?

A freight broker arranges capacity between shippers and motor carriers without owning the trucks. Setara Logistics is a freight brokerage backed by FMCSA broker authority and a BMC-84 surety bond. We source and vet carriers, book the load, and coordinate the shipment from pickup to delivery. Setara Logistics does not run its own trucks; for asset-based trucking, that is the separate company Setara Transport.

What credentials does Setara Logistics hold as a broker?

Setara Logistics holds US property broker authority through the FMCSA and carries a BMC-84 surety bond. We also hold trusted-trader credentials on both sides of the border, including C-TPAT and CBSA Partners in Protection, and we are a member of CIFFA. Every credential is verifiable on its official register.

Which lanes and modes can you cover?

We coordinate truckload and LTL across Canada and cross-border between Canada and the United States, and we can arrange multi-mode moves that combine road with rail or intermodal. We are based in the Toronto and GTA area and broker freight on lanes across both countries.

How do you find and vet carriers?

Capacity is sourced from a vetted carrier network. We check operating authority, insurance, and safety standing before a carrier moves a load, then match the lane and equipment to carriers that run it regularly. This gives you flexible capacity without committing to a single fleet.

What visibility do I get on a brokered shipment?

One coordinator owns your shipment from booking to delivery and gives you status updates from pickup to proof of delivery. You are not left chasing the carrier for an ETA.

Can you handle customs on a cross-border load?

Yes. Customs clearance is handled through our licensed customs broker partner, who files the entry with CBSA or CBP. Setara Logistics is not an in-house customs broker; we coordinate the clearance alongside the freight so the two move together.
